“The Lord is King forever and ever; nations have perished from His land. O Lord, You, have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed” Psalm 10:16-18

Makanaka (Beneficial -Good Will)

Our loving Master never turns “His inclined Ear” from the cries of His beloved children although it comes into question when we lose someone precious to us. The Highfield Nazarene Church family started praying for Makanaka when they took her into their Glen Norah HOH home 5 years ago after she was abandoned by her parents. She came with a continuing heart problem. The “Government Department of Social Development” and the church were ardently working together to facilitate a heart transplant but to no avail. Our Lord’s ways are not always our ways, but we do believe that she is home with Jesus.

Pictured are some of the older children in the home who loved Makanaka to the very end. Garikai, the Hands of Hope National Director, sent a touching video of her memorial service. We normally tend to communicate the highlights of children and projects but over the years there have also been many tears shed. The Word of God instructs us to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. Jesus wept with Mary of Bethany before He raised Lazurus from the dead. We continue to pray for the Highfield family and the children in the home.

We are convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus will raise up all who believe on the last day. That is why the gospel is shared every week in our HOH partnering churches, during our HOH VBS camps as well as daily at all our preschools and bridging schools. This month we opened up 5 new preschools and 5 new bridging schools for 250 children from hard places who have never been to school.

We thank our God in all our remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in our every prayer for you all in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. Thank you!
