“God, You see the problems of people in trouble. You take note of their pain. You do something about it. So those who are attacked place themselves in Your care. You help children whose fathers have died.” Ps. 10:14

COVID Global Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in multiple shocks on the global terrain with disastrous consequences. Children are not the face of this pandemic but they risk being among its greatest victims. While we are thankful that children have been spared from the direct health effects of COVID-19, this crisis is having a profound effect on their wellbeing. School closures, unstable employment, and inaccessible health services have caused enormous disruptions to children and their wellbeing. Hands of Hope children’s residential homes and projects were not spared.

Churches Loving Children

Due to lockdown restrictions our HOH churches and Transformational Centers have become hubs of activity where the focus is not only feeding but on communicating Christ's love to orphans through spiritual activities, such as Bible teachings, games, stories, songs, and social interactions. Schools are finally set to reopen on Feb. 8th which means that the 10 new schools we started in September will begin afresh in 2022. Please join us in praying for our pastors, caregivers, teachers, and church leaders as they navigate the after effects of isolation, loneliness, and disillusionment.

Here is a testimony from one of our HOH homes, “Even though children are really little, you could see that they were incredibly sad, missing their daily routine and structure of going to school, playing with their peers, and just being with people. They were frustrated that they couldn’t go out because all they wanted was to be with their friends.”

Speaking of friends, we are so glad that you have chosen to be friends of Hands of Hope.  We cannot stop thanking our gracious God for your part in rescuing children. May we all continue to grow in grace and knowledge of our wonderful Savior and coming King in 2022.
