Sheltered in Place

You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow, say this: “GOD, you are my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe!” Psalm 91:1

Over the last 20 years the Father of the fatherless has enabled us by His grace to give children at risk a place of shelter and safety during the AIDS and COVID pandemics in Zimbabwe.

Shammah Children’s Home

Shammah children’s home from its inception has been a place which offers safety for children who have experienced trauma as well as children who need love and protection. Besides the 12 children who reside at Shammah, 4 young children who were being physically abused by their stepmothers have joined the Shammah family. Although they will not be staying at Shammah permanently, they are happy to provide them with a safe place for now.

❖  Currently Shammah has 12 children who are permanently at the home.

❖  They have older children who are now in foster care but are still part of the Shammah family.

❖  Shammah has created a network of people who they call friends of Shammah. These are professionals who offer their services to Shammah as well as volunteering to spend time with the children.

❖  They have also created a WhatsApp group for the children who aged out of Shammah and this has strengthened their relations with the children.

Next month I hope to share more of what pastor Abel, his wife Swerma and Mbare Faith Ministries Church are doing to utilize the property the Lord provided for HOH to expose our precious children to various skills for their future.

Your gifts and support provide opportunities for our children to learn how to put their faith in the Lord Jesus who provides an eternal place of safety. Thank you!
