Hellen’s Testimony

“The vision of Hands of Hope is to provide hope, family, and a future. This has been true in my life.  Through Hands of Hope, I received hope which is Jesus Christ, a family through Westgate Haven and Calvary Baptist Church. I am looking forward to what the Lord has for my future.  (3rd from the right – 1st row)

Having lost my family at a very young age I never thought I would finish school and achieve my dreams. However, my life was transformed in 2003 when I became part of Westgate Haven, an HOH residential home. It is through this opportunity that I am now a graduate from the University of Zimbabwe, was able to serve the Lord as a HOH camp leader and am now a HOH staff member as the Residential Care Coordinator. I married the love of my life on the 20th of January this year. I am grateful to the Lord for what Hands of Hope is doing in the lives of children who come into HOH homes, transformational centers and bridging schools.”

Patty and I witnessed Hellen’s arrival back in 2003 as we brought a team to refurbish the home. I remember taking the picture with Hellen and the other precious children that were under the care of Jossie Mutingwende and her husband Aaron. Jossie was a schoolteacher for years and her passion for education has influenced the young women from Westgate Haven in pursuing higher education.

The Word of God tells us in Luke 2 that,  “Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and people.” God’s favor in Hellen’s life through your generosity has given her beauty for ashes. Thank you!
