“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it” Prov. 22:6

Rusike Preschool

Around 15 years ago someone put $300 in my pocket before Patty and I left for Zimbabwe.  With it we put up a prefab structure which is still being used to share Christ’s love to precious children in a rural area called Goromonzi.

Pastor Diamond and his wife Sarah are very passionate about the pre-school, helping and equipping children from hard places. Despite the challenges they are facing from the current COVID-19 pandemic they have been finding a way to feed and teach the kids. Below are two precious preschoolers.

Melencia Mujuru Age: 6

Melencia lost her father in a car accident early this year and her mother the previous year. Her guardians are not keen on looking after her because they had problems with her deceased parents. The pre-school is helping her through her bereavement and providing her with a meal each day. Melencia has missed a year of learning and hopes to start grade 1 next year. She joined the preschool in April 2020.

Agnes is a lovely young girl who stays with her grandmother. Her mum abandoned her because she has a hearing and speech impairment. The pre-school has been a blessing to Agnes. It provides her with a meal every day and she also now as an opportunity to interact with other children. She can now eat on her own, something she was not able to do when she first came to the pre-school in January 2020.

Regular government schools in Zimbabwe are not open but Ruskie Preschool opens its arms to 25 children in the morning and 25 more children in the afternoon. This is all because of your passion to help train up children in “the fear of the Lord.”  Thank you!
