“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”
1 Thess. 5:16-17
We give thanks for all of you and rejoice because of your partnership with Hands of Hope in rescuing children at risk. We praise God for providing faithful people, both in the States and Zimbabwe, to walk with us as we love and care for these precious ones. It has been our privilege and joy to be able to communicate what God has and is doing through Hands of hope because of you.
Last August I wrote to you about the decision of one of our U.S. ministry partners to temporarily suspend funding and short-term teams to Zimbabwe. Soon after that decision was made, the leadership of this partnering organization changed. On October 23rd, I had the opportunity to meet with their board and was able to communicate the findings from an extensive internal investigation by Hands of Hope both in the States and in Zimbabwe. At this meeting each of the partner’s concerns was addressed with specific details and complete transparency. I am very thankful to be able to report that Hands of Hope guidelines, standards, and procedures have been and continue to be followed with proper accountability and documentation. In addition, according to Social Welfare (the Zimbabwe government organization that monitors orphan care), there has been no mismanagement or inappropriateness concerning the safety or wellbeing of children in our projects.
Hands of Hope will continue to support all of the children in our projects and residential homes through the Lord’s gracious provision from people like each of you. We will also continue to support the sacrificial efforts of all our Zimbabwe Church Partners and each individual who works with us. Together, we are committed to ensure the safety and security of each child in caring for them body, soul and spirit.
Thank you for your prayers for us and with us. We fully understand the “spiritual battle” that takes place around each of us in the unseen realm. Let’s continue to pray for one another knowing that greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world.
