“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” 2 Tim. 4:7
If you were to ask children from “hard places” in the Hwange and Binga areas of Zimbabwe many of them would say that their hero is Rev. Simon Mukolo! Pasotor Simon recently graduated to heaven! He has left a lasting Legacy!
Rev Simon Mukolo’s
His life and legacy - Four Decades of Ministry
Hands of Hope has had the privilege of partnering with Assemblies of God in the Hwange and Binga area of Zimbabwe. We support more than 450 children in nine district centers. Simon Mukolo quietly passed away on 28th of June and was buried on the 2nd of July. In the early 60’s pastor Simon felt a strong conviction to transform the lives of his fellow Tonga people with the Word of God. He was a church planter par excellence. When he started evangelizing the area the Word of God was treated with great suspicion. He endured a lot of hardships from hostile tribesmen until the seed of faith started to grow. To date the Assemblies of God is divided into nine districts with at least five churches per district. The church has about 65 local assemblies in total.
On the 3rd of February our National Director Charles Kaguda and Garikai our National Project Director had a heart to heart talk with Rev Simon –in jacket and tie.
The Bible says that, “That without vision people Perish.” Pastor Simon may not be a legend in the eyes of the world, but he has lived a faithful life loving Jesus and children. Your faithful support has enabled Hands of Hope to carry on pastor Simon’s legacy. We are forever grateful.
Thanks for your loving partnership,
Glen and Patty
