“But Jesus called for the little ones, saying, “Allow the children to come to Me, and do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” Luke 18:15-17
Dear Friends,
About 15 years ago Hands of Hope put up this prefab buiding in 3 weeks. Pastor Diamond and his wife were trying to build a small church with large sticks. The building has served as a worship center since 2007. This rural church started their own preschool as they longed for the children in their rural community to come to know Jesus. Next year we are planning to add a bridging school complete with trained teachers and a trained social worker. The church is so grateful to partner with HOH in changing the lives and the futures of children at risk like these two below.
Margret
Margret is 4 years of age and stays with her aunt from her paternal side. Her parents divorced, both have remarried and neglected the little girl. Her aunt was not able to pay for her to attend a regular preschool but with Rusike preschool she is able to receive early childhood education without cost. The aunt has also started coming to church because of the transformation she is seeing in her niece.
Valentine
Valentine is also 4 years of age and stays with his grandmother from his maternal side. His mother is now deceased, and his father is an absent father who has ignored his son. He was quite sick when he first came to us but now his health has improved from the nutritional food that he receives at the preschool. The young boy is highly intelligent and performs well in class. He attends Sunday services with his grandmother and his favorite memory verse is Ephesians 6:1. “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.”
Paul in his letters to the churches often prayed thanking God for His gracious work in their lives. We thank our Lord and Savior for his work in opening your hearts in responding to the needs of children in Zimbabwe.
