Who is like the Lord our God, who is enthroned on high, who looks far down to the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap, to seat them with noblemen, with the noblemen of His people.” Psalm 113:5-8

The simplistic yet profound answer to the 3 “Who questions” in Ps. 113 is “no one.” No one qualifies other than the One who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light! Friends, I hope that encourages you as none of us just wandered into the kingdom. The 2,000 children that we minister to every day through our partnering churches just did not drift into our homes, projects, schools, and churches. No, our God is at work in the lives of our HOH children, and He always finishes what He starts.

God Raised Up Mercy

Mercy is a 16-yo girl with a remarkable story. After leaving school in grade 2 at the age of 10, she found herself as a domestic helper until age 14. She faced challenges beyond her years. You cannot believe the story behind her smile. But today, she is back in school, eager to learn and thriving in her studies. It is incredible to see how quickly she is catching up; she is always requesting more lessons from Loveness, a teacher at Philadelphia Transformation Center. More than anything, Mercy is rediscovering the joy of being a child again. Her church family gives her hope and dreams for a bright future.

God Lifted Up Knowledge

One of the major reasons why kids drop out of school is starvation and this affects the orphaned, the vulnerable, and poor families. According to an official newspaper about 50,704 children dropped out of school in a 2-year period. We are grateful for our partnering churches who care for children in our homes, preschools, bridging schools and transformational centers! Knowledge is one of our young men who our Lord has raised up to attend a designing course at Speciss College. Many of our children are unable to pass their O and A level exams. What then? There is little hope in a country with 80% unemployment unless they learn some kind of skill. Knowledge passed the designing course and is starting another course.

The Lord has “raised you up” by His grace to be part of our HOH family, so that together we can provide opportunities for children like Mercy and Knowledge. Thanks for sowing bountifully into the lives of our HOH children.
