“Partnership is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment toward organized objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results . . . Simply put, it is less “me” and more “we.”  Anonymous

Partnership

Hands of Hope has been partering in Zimbabwe with pastors, churches, children at risk ministries as well as with supporters like you for over 18 years. One of the organizations we partner with is “Jonathan’s Impact.” Pictured to the right are children from the Chileleko HOH home which they have supported for many years.

Jonathan’s Story

Jonathan’s Impact was formed in 2009 after the death of Steve and Cassy DiLeo’s 17 year old son, Jonathan. In August of 2008, just a week before the start of his junior year of high school in Mandeville, LA, the previously healthy Jonathan was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Tragically, Jonathan succumbed to the illness four months later.

Shortly after his diagnosis, Jonathan was given the opportunity to have a wish granted by, “Make a Wish Foundation” of Louisiana. Jonathan’s “Wish” was to provide a much needed irrigation system for the Mbuya Nehanda Children’s Home, an orphanage in Melfort, Zimbabwe. Jonathan had visited this orphanage on a mission trip in 2005 and was struck by the impoverished living conditions of the orphanage as well as the lack of water to irrigate crops. Jonathan’s “Wish” was to provide irrigation to the fields to meet the needs of the orphanage for food and water. About a year after Jonathan’s death, his “Wish” was granted and became reality. Jonathan’s passion was the “seed” that motivated his parents, Steve and Cassy to start “Jonathan’s Impact.” They have become our dear friends and we are humbled to partner with them in rescuing precious children at risk.

We are also humbled by your faithfulness is loving children in Jesus’ name. We pray that you all will have a blessed and joyful New Year filled with the knowledge of His will!

For Jesus’ sake and for the children,
Glen and Patty
