“We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done . . . He commanded our fathers that they should teach them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God” Psalm 78:1-7

News on the Education Front

Menlo Church began their partnership with the Donhodzo feeding project in Chegutu in 2014. Over the next couple of years, several children stood out as having particular potential and a group of team members felt God’s leading to find places for them in the best high school in Chegutu, beginning in 2016. Tonnex White and Christopher Chidongo are two boys that have done so well at St. Francis High that they are now being supported at a Catholic boarding school, Mt. St. Mary’s, where they are flourishing. Christopher has been made a Prefect and Tonnex has been winning regional athletic awards. This month they are writing their first “O” level exams which are vitally important to their educational future. The Menlo group is currently praying that Ratchel, another promising student in her second year of high school in Chegutu, may also get a place in a top boarding school. On her most recent term report the headmaster’s comment was that for her, “the sky is the limit”!

Education Needs

Westgate church sent a team to minster through a VBS program to 50 children from the Donhodzo feeding project in July this year. Unlike Tonnex and Christopher none of these children attend a regular school.  They have 4 teachers at the project that teach these precious children at risk during the week.  Each teacher has 40 students!  They do receive food each day and are loved by pastor Erasmus and the church in Chegutu. Thanks for your support as we have no idea where these children would be otherwise.
