Camps
In 2013, a 134 acre property Southeast of the Harare Airport was purchased, and designated as Habitation of Hope. The primary purpose of this facility is to run camps for groups of orphans under the care of Hands of Hope. Our camps focus on building relationships, having fun, and introducing kids to Jesus and the Gospel. The camps are typically run as Vacation Bible School style programs, but can also follow other formats such as arts or music camps.
The property includes plenty of activities for the kids such as a Basketball court, sand volley ball (“net ball”) court, a soccer field, a fire pit, outdoor pavilion, and various team-building activities.
In addition to the camps, the facility has been used for conferences, seminars, training, and even weddings. The property also includes a working farm, chicken run, greenhouses, fruit trees, and a skills training facility which has been used to teach sewing, welding, engine repair, and other skills.
The camp is run by a full time staff who live on-site, and there are sleeping quarters for volunteers and well over 100 kids.
“Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come;
You have given commandment to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress.”
