“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward” Ps. 127:3
The Blessing of Children
During my recent trip to Zimbabwe I was reaquainted with Moses Gwesani. I met him years ago at Highfield Nazarene church where HOH first started feeding 25 children 19 years ago. He is married to his wife Sibongile and are blessed with 3 children. He attended Harare Theological College from 2007 to 2012.
The Lord Jesus planted in his heart a very deep passion for vulnerable children. One of our Hands of Hope staff members (Garikai on the left) brought him to our office and Moses shared his vision of planting a church in the poor farming area about 70 miles outside of Harare where he lives. So, without any support he and his wife along with 2 other caregivers started feeding 33 hungry children 3 times a week. He asked if we could help him expand this ministry and he is now feeding daily. I have not yet seen the children that Moses is feeding but hope to one day by God’s grace.
Musa Simba
We are still feeding children at Highfield Nazarene and this young man named Musa is one who is benefiting. You might find it hard to believe but he wants to be a “voice for the voiceless” thus he desires to be a lawyer. His father passed away and he lives with his mother and younger brother. Before coming to our Highfield Transformational Center he would sleep with an empty stomach. Musa is doing form 1 and loves to read during his spare time at home.
One translation of Ps. 127:3 says, “Children are God’s best gift.” We are only able to support these children because of your gifts that enable them to grow in body, soul and spirit – thank you!
