January 2018

Happy New Year!

“A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in His holy habitation” Psalm 68:5

I am sitting here at my desk as 2018 begins, staring at 2 books, The Fields of the Fatherless and Journey to the Fatherless. Both of these books deal with compassion and I am reminded that:

• Compassion will measure our hearts

• Compassion will cost us something

• Compassion will interrupt our plans

• Compassion will stretch our faith

Green Valley Nazarene Church Christmas Party Outreach

Over 3 years ago, Gari our HOH National Administrator with some friends, planted a church close to “Habitation of Hope” – our camp property. The church began to grow immediately, mainly through outreach to the children. This past Christmas they reached out again by uniting the church to show tangible compassion to needly children. Green Valley has a game plan! They are building bridges in a very poor community by offering tutoring, crafts activities, fun games and of course sharing Jesus. They are becoming all things to children so that they can win children!

You have been teaming up with HOH in 2017 and I believe you have discovered the “joy of compassionate living.” The Lord Jesus became flesh to do what we were incapable of doing – “He became sin that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” God’s heart continues to beat for lost people and especially for the fatherless. Thanks for your sacrificial, compassionate giving. It is not in vain!

Because of Jesus and His love,
