“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.” Deut. 10:18
The Heart of the Father
Deuteronomy 10:18 reveals the tender and just heart of God, who actively defends the fatherless, provides for their needs, and upholds their dignity as children made in His image. He is not distant from their suffering—He steps in as their protector and provider, showing that every life, especially the vulnerable, matters deeply to Him. As His image bearers, we are called to reflect that same compassion and justice, caring for the fatherless and marginalized with tangible love. In doing so, we not only honor their worth but also embody the character of the God we serve.
Kudzai
When children from “hard places” feel safe and significant, they can envision a future. Through our dedicated partnerships with HOH churches, we create such an environment. Kudzai is one of the young girls who is growing in wisdom and the security that is found in Jesus. This is what she states in her own words. “I am a vibrant and ambitious 15-year-old with a passion for storytelling and sports. This is an exciting year for me because I am completing my primary level. I am very fond of playing soccer, as it keeps me healthy and active. I have developed valuable skills such as teamwork, discipline, and communication. My passion lies in journalism. I am fascinated by the power of words and the impact that a well-crafted story has on people. My dream is to become a journalist, using my curiosity, creativity and passion for storytelling to share inspiring stories, shed light on critical issues and give a voice to the voiceless.”
Kudzai, is part of our Hillside home in Bulawayo. Pastor Gideon and his wife Jennifer are two of the most passionate servants that I have ever met. They have planted 2 churches using our preschool/bridging school model. Your commitment to our King, His kingdom, and HOH allows children like Kudzai to taste the goodness of God.
