January 2023
I have nobody else with a genuine interest in your well-being. All the others are wrapped up in their own affairs and do not really care for the business of Jesus Christ. But you know how Timothy has proved his worth, working with me for the Gospel like a son with his father” Phil. 2:20-22
Pastor Timothy and Irene
I first met Pastor Timothy and his wife Irene in 2002. I remember him taking me to the home of a blind widow. She was caring for 4 orphaned children in a one room shed with no water or electricty. He and Irene identified close to 1,000 vulnerable children close to their church in their first two years of ministry. Our very 1st HOH feeding project for 25 children took place at Highfield Nazarene Church. Today we feed 2,000 children at risk daily through our 24 HOH churches.
In 2008 we took a building team to Zimbabwe. We built earth homes on the 1,000 acre farm called Goshen that was given to HOH by a friend. You can see the team made up of Americans and Zimbabweans working together to provide a place for children from hard places to have a hope, a family and a future. Today we have 4 homes under Pastor Timothy’s and Irene’s oversight. I can honestly say I have no one else of “kindred spirit” who will genuinely be concerned for the welfare of children.
Tinotenda
Tinotenda, found refuge at Goshen after running away from home because of ill treatment. He is a wonderful young man who loves the work of the Lord. He helps lead Bible studies with our care givers as we now have 40 children on the farm. He is currently sitting for his public primary examinations, and we wish him all the best.
He is grateful for the love he gets at Goshen. He says, “By God’s grace, I am increasing in wisdom” through serving God and learning at school. His favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11. Pastor and Irene along with other leaders from the Nazarene Church planted a church at Goshen. They also built a school from ground up which now has about 150 students attending from the community.
The church at Goshen planted another church in an adjacent farming community. Pastor Timothy is a faithful brother and sometimes calls me his father. As 2022 ends on behalf of HOH we reach out our arms to you and say, “thank you.”
May 2023 draw you closer to Jesus!
