Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave;
Weep o’er the erring one, lift up the fallen,
Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.
I first heard this hymn, “Rescue the Perishing,” over 50 years ago after the Lord Jesus rescued me! HOH’s passion for over a decade has been to rescue children from the one who kills, steals, and destroys.
The Rescue of Kuda
Kuda was born in 2012 and came to our Chileleko home when he was 14 months old. He was the youngest child in a family of four children in Binga, Zimbabwe, which is a very remote and impoverished area.
• His mother died during his delivery.
• His maternal aunt took him and his 10 siblings into her home.
• She was unable to provide for them and suddenly passed away.
He is now 15 and in Form 3 at a local high school. He is disciplined and an exemplary student. He recently received a certificate in school for being the most well-behaved student for two consecutive years.” He will graduate from high school in December 2027 and hopes to become an auto mechanic.
Our vision for every child is to provide hope, a family, and a future. Kuda’s future is filled with hope, in part because of your generosity. The refrain for “Rescue the Perishing is:
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.
We are partnering with the only “Rescuer” in the universe. Jesus came to seek and to save people like you, me, and Kuda who were all dead in our trespasses and sins. Thanks for the vital part you play!
