“A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in His holy habitation.” Ps. 68:5-6
Imagine yourself as an orphan or a child at risk, stepping into adulthood in a country where most people survive through informal work and where very few have access to stable, formal employment. The reality for young women in Zimbabwe is that even if they work hard, they may not pass their O‑Level or A‑Level exams, shutting them out of the limited formal job market. And even though most of the population is technically “employed,” this so often means selling vegetables by the roadside, doing odd jobs, or struggling day to day without job security, predictable income, or a future to build toward.
This is exactly where the Hands of Hope Sewing Skills Training Course becomes a lifeline. Over eight months, these 15 young women are trained to sew shirts, dresses, blouses, and learning a skill that can generate real, dignified income. Alongside this, they study God’s Word and earn a Bible certificate through Harare Theological College, grounding their new beginning in hope and identity. And at graduation, each young woman receives her own sewing machine free of charge, giving her the tools, confidence, and opportunity to build a sustainable livelihood. In a nation where the path ahead is often uncertain, this course offers them something they have never had before - a tangible future, honest work they can be proud of, and the hopeful light of Christ guiding their next steps.
Thank you, dear friends, for giving, praying, and joyfully spreading the word about what the Father of the fatherless is doing in Zimbabwe. Your faithfulness is woven into every restored life and every young woman who now steps into her future with hope, dignity, and the love of Christ. We are humbled by your generosity, strengthened by your prayers, and inspired by your partnership in this work. Because of you, these daughters are discovering that their story is not one of abandonment, but of a God who sees, a God who provides, and a God who lovingly leads them into a new beginning.
