Simira Sewing Skills update

March 2022

11 girls from 10 Hands of Hope supported projects and 1 from the Government Department of Social Development started their 6 months training on Monday the 7th of March. The course is expected to end on the 9th of September. Kudzai Mugande and Constance Moyo from The Class of 2020 are assistant teachers and house keepers. They were in the same roles last year.

The Sewing Skills girls have settled well. They are now able to take correct body measurements, make patterns and use manual hand sewing machine. Each girl has made an apron which was their first project. They are now working on making skirts and blouses.

We are so grateful to Olivia from Cornerstone church who is teaching girls basic cooking and baking. She is also doing a spiritual formation program called Virtuous Women based on Proverbs 31. We are so grateful to God for connecting us with this passionate ministry servant. Our girls are growing fast in loving The Lord.

We are thankful to Hands of Hope for making this project possible. We hope that the girls would be equipped both mentally, physically and spiritually by the end of the course.
