HABITATION OF HOPE CAMPSITE
The AWANA Olympic camp was a wonderful success, held from November 20th to 22nd, 2025, at Habitation of Hope Campsite. We welcomed around 400 children aged 6-14 from our 10 Transformational Centers (TCs) that are part of the New Model. The participating projects included Philadelphia, Alaska, Mhondoro, Mabvuku, Goromonzi, Green Valley, Chitungwiza, Rugare, Bulawayo, and Arcadia. The camp was designed to promote teamwork and a sense of belonging while also focusing on developing emerging leaders and sharing the gospel of Christ with children. Lifelong discipleship and good sportsmanship were also key objectives. The children's deep understanding of scripture was evident during the Bible quiz and memory verse drills, showcasing how well they are being equipped with biblical knowledge. We truly appreciate the dedication of the teachers involved. The event kicked off with the Bible quiz and memory verse activities, followed by choirs, AWANA games, and culminated in Netball and Five-a-side soccer. We witnessed great talent among the kids in these different activities. Some of the project leaders even came through to support their children.
After the event, the winning projects in various categories received prizes and shields as recognition of their hard work and to encourage them to always perform at their best and to set higher goals for the coming AWANA Olympics. Pastor Mutatu from Philadelphia commented, “We are seeing the Kingdom of God advancing through the AWANA Olympics.” Mrs. Dube from Mabvuku expressed, “These Olympics bring excitement to the kids, and they are learning and achieving a lot.” The Olympics have even motivated some projects to initiate the New Model TC. We are grateful for the support that made it possible for us to reach children through these Olympics.
