Letter From Glen Miller (July 2017)

Back From Zimbabwe

I recently returned from 10 weeks in Zimbabwe. It was a busy but very fruitful time. I was able to help minister to 150 precious children during the 3 weeks of Bible camps with short term teams. I also had a precious time with our HOH Pastor’s and wives from June 4th – June 7th. We focused on “parenting” the precious children that our Lord has entrusted to us. Now it is my joy to share with you what the “Father to the fatherless is doing” in the following 2 stories!

Edna Mutaiwana

Edna is 14 years old and was born HIV positive. Her father died 6 years ago and she was left staying with her sick mother. She was not going to school and she would often go for a day without a meal because her mother could not provide for her. When she came to the Mbare feeding project she started eating again on a regular basis. Pastor Dube managed to get her treated medically and she was put on ARV course and Edna’s health has improved a lot. Pastor Dube then took her into our HOH Mbare home. She is so grateful to HOH for the love, protection and care that she is receiving. It was a joy having her at her first Bible camp in May. She is now doing grade 6 and loves going to school. Praise the Lord for His kindness!

Prudence Musiwa

Prudence was born in a family of 4 and her father was very abusive to her mother as well as her other siblings. Before coming to the Rugare Transformational Feeding Center she was not attending any kind of school because her parents could not afford the schools fees. Prudence is now staying at the Rugare girls’ home and looks forward to returning to school in 2018. The T shirt that she is wearing was one of the craft projects at the Bible camp and each child also received a new Bible that they covered during another daily craft project. We pray that the Word of God will richly dwell in Prudence’s heart!

Thanks for enabling us to provide camps for children who have come from “hard places.” We are humbled by your prayers and continued support!

For Jesus’ sake and for the children,

Glen and Patty
