April 2018

April 1, 2108 is: “Resurrection Sunday!” I think this chorus from an old hymn states it succinctly! “Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o’er His foes, He arose a Victor from the dark domain, and He lives forever, with His saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah!” Happy Easter! Patty and I are celebrating Easter in Zimbabwe after having arrived on March 20th

Justice for the Weak, Fatherless, Afflicted and Destitute

“Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy, deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Ps. 82:3-4 We opened the “Esther House” in partnership with Renewal Church a couple of years ago. I just received this encouraging email.
“We are thrilled to announce that this past month, two of the three teenagers at Esther House gave their lives to the Lord! Praise God for His faithfulness! Currently the Esther House has two pregnant young girls
and one mother with a newborn. And this past Sunday, E.H. the young lady pictured dedicated her newborn baby girl to the Lord in our Sunday service. It was a powerful testimony of the Father’s ability to take what the enemy meant for destruction, and turn it into a beautiful picture of His love for those who have been abused and treated unjustly!

Valley Church VBS Team

In just a few days a team, from our home church, arrives to conduct 2 weeks of Vacation Bible School for 100-110 children from two of our “transformational centers!” We desire that these precious children who come from “hard places” would experience the love of Jesus through our stories, songs, skits, crafts, music and puppets! We long for each of them to know that “Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit” Thanks for helping us bring justice to the poor and needy here in Zimbabwe. Remember also that: “The Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him. Isaiah 30:18
