 Zimbabwe Bound

On February 13th, Patty and I will hopefully be on our way to Zimbabwe until the end of July.  You know that we make our plans but He directs our steps.  We have been trying to keep in step with Him and are so thankful for working in your hearts to be on our HOH team.

New Goshen Village  Home

Many of you know that we took a building team to Zimbabwe 3 ½ years ago to build earth homes.  We built 1½ homes in 10 days and taught 2 Zimbabweans how to build. They finished the second home and built the third in less than 3 weeks.  We took in orphans from the rural area and put them in our first two homes.  Social Welfare wouldn’t allow us to fill the last home without completing the entire registration process. By God’s grace we were recently granted approval.

Patience and Samson

We took in the 7 precious children into the earth home you see in the background.  Patience and Samson are the two children standing on the left.  They are Siblings, their father Samson James was a lay-pastor at a Nazarene church in Shamva. He died this year in October when he was trying to rescue a person who was trapped in a gold mine which collapsed as the man was panning for precious minerals.  The mine collapsed further resulting in the death of Mr. James and the man he was trying to help.  Disaster struck the James family first in May last year when Mrs. James died after a long struggle with cancer. Their two children are now part of the Goshen 3 family!

If the Lord brings Patience, Samson and the other children in the Goshen home to mind ask our gracious Lord to use our caregiver’s love to help them heal.  We have just come across some excellent curriculum that has been tested in India for children that have been abused or who have suffered extreme trauma.  We are exploring how we might use it in our HOH projects.

Patty and I would also appreciate your prayers as we adjust back to life and ministry in Zimbabwe.  Thanks again for your faithful loving support.  You are helping us rescue orphans.

Because of Jesus and His love,

Glen and Patty
