Hands of Hope January Newsletter – 2012

Happy New Year

We made it to 2012!  Someone said, “If you want to know how rich you are just count your blessings.”  On behalf of our Hands of Hope board we wish to personally thank each one of you for blessing the Lord, churches and orphans through your prayers and faithful support.

 A Year of Growth

Lord willing we will open up 7 new residential homes through local churches in Zimbabwe this next year.  This will bring our total number to 21.  HOH purchased the homes but the local churches will pick up the entire budget for their home.  We purchased our 1st home in the city of Bulawayo which is the second largest city in Zimbabwe.  We are partnering with a church called, “Word of Life.”

It isn’t as easy opening a home as it used to be when HOH started 10 years ago. We are working closely with Social Welfare and the process is often long and tedious.  However the Lord has been so faithful and the timing of opening up each home to precious children at risk is in His hands!

New Home in Kyrgyzstan

We have faced some struggles in opening up a residential home in Kyrgyzstan called Dayspring.  However in September a little darling called Dahsa arrived.    She is eight years old and has never been to school.  Her mother is an alcoholic.  She has a heart condition and needs surgery.  Thankfully the Lord is working to enable the surgery to take place.

Jenya, the girl on the right is in second grade.  She was abandoned by her parents and taken to a shelter and then brought to Dayspring.  We are still in the process of finding out more details about her.  We hope, by God’s grace, to fill the home in 2012!

We trust that in 2012 each of your lives will be filled with the knowledge of His will and the awareness of His constant care.  We also want to thank you again for partnering with Hands of Hope in loving children like Dasha and Jenya.

Patty and I hope to leave for Zimbabwe around the middle of February.

Because of Jesus and for His glory,

Glen and Patty
