What makes your blood boil?  Does anything make you angry?  Perhaps the use, abuse and the plight of the vulnerable would qualify?  Do you remember that Jesus wasn’t very happy with the disciples when they tried to prevent children from coming to Him?

 New Home

We recently opened up Chileleko children’s home.  Chileleko is a Tonga word meaning “God’s blessing.” The Home is housed on a property we purchased last year.  The home is run by Mr and Mrs  Dandahuni, with Mrs. Lucia Dandahuni as the Home Director . The Senior Pastor of Global Life Ministries,  Pastor Peter Mabasa is the chairman of the Board which runs the home. The home is situated in Hatfield, which is a suburb about 10 km from Harare city center.

Our initial plan was to have an all-girls home but that won’t happen due to circumstances beyond our control.  Pictured is baby Kuzileza (Tonga for “God knows“) who is a one year old boy. His mother passed away immediately after giving birth to him.  He was being looked after by his old grandmother and was malnourished having been to the clinic on several occasions for dietary supplements with little effect . The grandmother approached us for help.  Ado is 8 this year and Maybe is four years old . These two are sisters . They were also malnourished and had a severe case of scabies. They treated them for the disease and then worked on their nourishment.  Their father passed away when Maybe was born.  There are two other elder siblings who are in school and the extended family couldn’t look after them all.  Ado went to school the first year but the extended family couldn’t afford her fees.   She just sat at home waiting to get married at the age of 13, which is the norm in the Binga area of the Zambezi valley. The girl child is lowly regarded in this area, and these circumstances forced them to take them both from the same home in order to give them a better chance in life with a Christian foundation.

Thanks again for being part of our Hands of Hope team.  You are helping to change the lives of orphans for time and eternity.

For Him and for the children,

Glen and Patty
