Valley Church VBS Team

It was a privilege for HOH, Patty and I to host a team from our home church this past month. Kurt Jones and his wife Val led an 11 member team from Valley Church. They ran two straight weeks of camp for children from two of our orphan feeding projects. We had 50 children from two poorer communities attend our Habitation of Hope Camp each week. The Valley team led games, crafts, songs, Bible stories and had the children memorize Scripture. The fun, food, fellowship and learning were never ending along with tears at the completion of each camp.

Giving Back

During the second camp, we used girls from Westgate Haven to help lead the four different teams. They like our Valley team gave and gave of themselves to the children. I asked some of them to share some blessings.

Aletta – “Working together with Valley Church was a blessing. They set such a good example of loving and caring for the children who came to camp and I joined in with them!”

Hellen – “The greatest blessing for me was having an opportunity to share the Word with children who have come from the same kind of background that I had in my early years.”

Pamela –“This was an opportunity to give back to children what has been instilled in me. This includes sharing the gospel and the joy that I have.”

Chipo – “I learned to be content with what I have but also realized that my career is to be with children.”

Abigirl – “This camp provided an opportunity to tell children how I have seen the hand of the Lord in my life.” I also gained confidence as a leader.”

Talent – “One blessing was to learn to lead other people and put them first. I really thank God for such an experience.”

We try to teach our children that it is more blessed to give than to receive and our Westgate girls were great examples of this during the camp. Each of you have given much to make these camps possible and we thank you for your loving support!
