Hands Of Hope – Hands of Hope cares for orphans and children at risk in Zimbabwe in partnership with the local church.

O LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth will no longer cause terror.” Ps 10:17-11:1

God’s ear is attentive to human needs in this hurting world in which we live and especially to the precious children who come from “hard places.” When I see and hear the stories of some of the children that the Lord has entrusted to Hands of Hope, I would have to say that I was born and raised in an “easy place.” Here is a story of one special little guy!

“Cries of the Heart”

Anotidaishe Malatae was born February 17th, 2013. He came to join the Shammah family when he was two days old. Anotidaishe is a Shona name which means “God loves us.” He was given this name because he was rescued from a sewer drain the day he was born and was brought to our Shammah home the following day. We believe God saved him for a reason because up to this very day the Doctors don’t know how he survived after such an ordeal. Anotidaishe has a great appetite and enjoys his mealy meal and milk. He seems to want to eat from others plates before he starts eating his own food. He also enjoys playing with his toys. Unfortunately he is HIV positive but is on medication.

Patty and I just returned after being in Zimbabwe a little over 3 months. Our time was challenging and stretching but I also believe fruitful. You might recall these words spoken by a “special agent” of God named Paul, “For a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Cor. 16:9 There is always opposition from the enemy who comes to kill, steal and destroy. We have felt the intensity of the battle like never before.

One of the biggest blessings of our time in Zim was to minister to over 150 of our HOH children from three feeding projects during 3 weeks of camps at Habitation of Hope. We also had two of our HOH Stateside Board Members here. We are so grateful for both of our capable boards.

We are also grateful for each of you as rescuing children like Anotidaishe would not be possible without your loving and prayerful support!
